I'd been waiting for some time for Part one to come out around here, and I wasn't disappointed. As some other reviews have mentioned, it is a nice mix of a documentary feel, and an action feel. The best such combination I've seen since Flags of our Fathers.
Terrific acting all around, a realistic portrayal, and a very controversial storyline come together in terrific fashion to make a great movie. Seems to be a very unbiased portrayal of the mindset of Che and Fidel, in their grand ideals of a free Cuba.
After seeing the steady flow of Che Part One, along with the great script, visuals and acting, I am very exciting and very much looking forward to Che Part Two, whenever it may be coming out. However long it takes, even if I must wait for a DVD release, I will do so happily. Che Part One is just that good.
I highly recommend it if you can find it at a theater near you. If not, wait for the DVD/BR release and you are unlikely to be disappointed.
Thanks, and happy watchings.

I only saw Part 1 which looks at Che at three different times, when he meets Castro in Mexico, during the revolution, and during some of his time in the US as Cuba's envoy to the UN. The movie is a honest portrait of Che and his ideals. He not only had strong ideals but also lived them. In the process there was bloodshed. There is no denying that he killed people but as I understand him it was not for pleasure. I don't want to justify his actions I don't think the movie does that. There is an almost documentary feel to the movie and very little is actually explained. Instead the film shows him as an intellectual, as a doctor, and as a revolutionary. It might be hard for those who are not familiar with his story to follow the movie but I really liked the fact that it was an assumption that the viewer is smart enough to figure things out. There are layers to Che, to his ideals, to his role in the revolution and the world. The movie shows these layers in a beautiful way.
This movie was excellent and acting is superb. Encourage everyone to go.
